2015 North Coast Petite Sirah
91 pts & Gold Medal, 2018 Winemaker Challenge; An open-knit, easy-drinking, approachable Petite Sirah.
Launches out of the glass with peppery cherry and raspberry notes that take on a deeper fruit dimension, adding dark chocolate notes with some air. Fleshy and robust across the palate, with a plummy, zesty structure that makes this particularly food-friendly while delivering plenty of varietal character.
Not your typical dark and inky Petite Sirah, today's release is a peppery, yet pretty expression of the varietal. Made in a richer Zinfandel-like style, Lot 550 is sourced from both Mendocino and Sonoma grapes, and is a great everyday drinker at an exceptionally reasonable price. At $12/bottle, this is a screaming deal.
