Big wine that needs more time
Sweet concentrated nose with nice fruit. Even after an hour in the glass, it was still closed. The next day, it had finally opened up to show its beauty. This wine is a licorice bomb! I have a couple more bottles and plan to open up on each year in January until they are gone.
Found this in my wine cooler...I forgot it was there. Wow!! This is a lush mouth filling Cab that lingers. Although I'm not a fruit bomb person, this is fruity without being too cloying. I adored this juice.
This wine is coming into its own
Still lots of room to grow. The tannins are marrying with the fruit and its a serious fruit bomb. Blackberry cassis, has it all. Medium full bodied. Glad I have some still. Hang on to it...
Honestly this is probably my favorite cab from CH. It is so approachable, and is very good by itself and great with meals. I wish there was more of this. I bought a case of the 2013, but it needs a lot more time.
Incredible wine – incredible value!
Opened a bottle of Lot 545 last week – amazing! Simply one of the best Cabs I’ve ever had, and certainly the best value. Picked up several bottles of the 2013 version - Lot 599, and cannot wait to try. Another incredible Cab!
this is what wine should tast like
Just opened my first bottle and WOW...this is what wine should taste like. Full body, rich, smooth and chewy. a sip goes a long way. its awesome now and this baby can age another 10-20 years. this is the best Cab ive ever tasted. wish i had bot more. look forward to the 2013 lots
Beautifu powerfull Fruit forward Cab, but still needs more time.
Opened first bottle beautiful ink purple Color and powerful fruit forward aroma, let decant for 1 + hours before first glass, first sip indicate a fruit bomb and spicy flavor and excellent long term potential, but still a bit rough time around the edges, after 2 hours it softened up a bit and starting to show great potential. This will develop into a beautiful wine over the next few years, but needs a minimum of two more years in the bottle before I open the next bottle.
That's more like it
This wine has developed nicely. The body has come together with the fruit, the palate is nice and long. The wine is now very full bodied and has deep black fruits.
Decanted a bottle of Lot 545 for about an hour and a half and it was still a tight. However, over the next 30-60 minutes, the true nature of this wine started unfolding. A big fruit bomb of dark berries (raspberry, currant) and at mid palate blueberry and cassis notes. I think the wine will smooth out on the finish in coming months/years, it still has a long time before being fully developed. We had with pasta and red sauce, but it is begging for a juicy rib eye steak. Will wait 6 months or so before opening another.
well made. Balanced fruit and tannins. Will be enjoying these for as long as we are willing to let them lay down.
