Saturated, dark purple color with a bit of red at the rim. Crème de cassis, fresh roasted coffee beans, dark berry, dark chocolate and earth leap from the glass. There are fleeting sweet peppermint notes and a bit of whiskey oak but my guess is these elements will integrate as the wine coalesces in bottle. This Cabernet hits your palate like a thunderbolt, but in the best way – a huge beam of crème de cassis that runs into a wall of big-grained tannins wrapped in dark fruit notes. Monumental, yet plush and silky; a powerhouse that could easily be set down for 5-15 years. Like a great rock band, this stuff is brash and ostentatious, but also seamless – Rock ‘n Roll in a bottle.

Style: Full, Bold

Flavors: Blackberry, Cassis, Oak, Tannins

Cam Confidential
A giant Cabernet from one of Napa's most prestigious appellations. Sourced from a $90/bottle program that sells its wine by mailing list only, this single vineyard release was part of a custom crush project and made by a legendary consulting winemaker. The Cabernet was made with all the bells and whistles, including barrel fermentation in 100% new French oak. We bought the entire ’12 Cabernet production – why they sold it remains a mystery.
