Wine Details
Explodes with bright cherry and acacia flower and quickly opens up to reveal a core of spicy cherry pie, blackberry jam, and toasty oak, with top notes of graphite and wet stone. Aromas of dark chocolate and coffee emerge with a few more minutes of air. Rich, spicy and lush on the palate with deeply textured black fruits and toasty oak notes that end in a coffee chocolate kiss. This wine is simultaneously graceful and extravagant, but simply put, it’s kick-ass juice.

Unless you’re involved in wine production, you probably haven’t heard much about Napa Valley’s Oak Knoll District. Located in the “sweet spot” between Carneros and the warmer climes of Napa Valley, Oak Knoll produces elegant Chardonnay, Merlot, and powerfully-structured Cabernets. Well-drained alluvial soils and the picture perfect ’13 vintage conspired to produce simply amazing fruit with splendid lushness. With a liberal helping of new oak, this exceptional blend has developed into a hell of a wine. Considering the expensive oak regimen and careful attention to detail that went into this wine, you’d be hard pressed to find comparable Napa Valley red blends of this quality at any less than $50-$60.
