Wine Details
After 15 minutes in the glass, it’s absolutely erupting with savory aromas of blackberry, plum, raspberry kirsch and licorice. This is a rich, intense, and concentrated expression of Russian River Pinot. The palate is fleshy and ripe, with Cabernet-like backbone and wonderful fruit. A truly phenomenal wine that will drink well now given a bit of air.

As I've mentioned before, my favorite opportunity buys are shiners - bottles of wine that have no label on them. Some folks just happen to have a little bit extra out of big vintages like '12/'13/'14, and I was more than happy to scoop these up. Lot 481 is a single vineyard designate wine, saw approximately 50-60% new oak, has already been in bottle for two years, and scored 92 and 93 points from the major publications. It is usually only sold in the producing winery's tasting room for $60, but is available here today for only $24!
