Lot 466 2012 Lodi Red Blend is in a terrific class of wine that you don’t see a whole lot of, and comprised of a unique blend you rarely find anywhere else: Tempranillo/Malbec/Grenache. Tempranillo in Lodi has a tremendous future – there isn’t much of it growing in Lodi right now, but we know some guys with Tempranillo vineyards well cropped in the eastern Sierra soils, and they make terrific wine. Aged in high end French oak, Lot 466 isn’t as big in structure as Napa cabs, but it’s still a bold mouthful of wine, and the quality is incredible for the price point. Just fantastic as an everyday drinking big wine.
