Big cheery nose on opening. Cheeries on the taste and finish but licorish on the finish. Ok to drink now but I would hold it for another 12 months.
One of my personal favorites, smooth and well balanced.
Very good US merlot, good deep black currant, long smooth finish. Let it open a bit. Excellent for the price.
While typically a cabernet lover, this merlot fits the bill. It is a bit tight when first poured but doesn't take long to open up beautifully revealing a long, smooth, well balanced flavor. Ordered another 1/2 case after opening the first bottle which is a first for me as I rarely purchase merlots. Excellent value.
Merlot is typically not my first choice, but this one is excellent. Opens up rather quickly to show hints of flowers and plums. Very deep dark in color, but not that heavy on the palate. I am saving my last two bottles for special evenings.
Pretty darn nice Merlot. Only bought 1 the first time to taste, but would do it again.
Loved this after letting it air out-
My first taste immediately after uncorking was similar to another reviewer- a bit tight. After just 1/2 hour, though- an absolute pleasure! The next day? Even better! I definitely enjoy this wine and will buy it again (if I can).
Tasty but needs time
I love this but will let the remaining bottles sit for a while. On first taste, it was tight, so I aerated the next glass and it really helped bring out some complexity. I'll let the remaining bottles sit for a few months.
Compares to wine twice the cost. Great for everyday sipping or special occasions.
Very good Merlot but not great
This wine is very good but doesn't standout. It would be a good deal at $13 but I think the Lake County Lot 473 is a better tasting wine and a real bargain at $9 a bottle!
