Ready to drink
Had this wine last night with a grilled prime ribeye and it’s definitely ready to consume. Medium to full-bodied with nice fruit and softened tannins, this wine glides across the palate and finishes with an herbal/menthol note. Delicious! I’m glad I have another bottle left to enjoy.
2011 might have been an off year, but this wine didn't read that book.
It was a stupendous wine. Opened a bottle last year and just a few days ago...stupendous still describes it.
It had a lot of great flavor, not too tanniny. Some berry flavor, maybe some chocolate. And the flavor developed in the glass as it was left open to the air. Glad I got a case of it!
I hope Cameron and gang get some in from this vineyard in the 2012 and 2013 years. If this wine tastes this good in an off year, I can't imagine how magnificent it might taste in vintage years.
Very tasty - high QPR
A delicious cab, opened July '15 and left to breathe for an hour or two before starting to drink. Berry and mocha (leaning towards coffee) came through nicely. Wish I'd picked up a few more bottles before it sold out!
2011 was difficult vintage for some, but Cam picked up this gem which defies that vintage. As always great with food.
One of favorites
One of the best CH wines to date. Not your typical cab and an outlier in the 2011 vintage. Vanilla, fresh tires, just the right level of acidity. It drinks very well with a decant now and will hold for a few years to come.
One of the best
This wine is absolutely one of the best of my recent Cameron Hughes purchases.
Was ready to order another case so was very disappointed (but not surprised) to find that it is sold out.
Great 2011 Cab
Tough year for cab but this cab is bold. Different than your typical Napa cab, but excellent. Drink with a hearty meal - your friends will be impressed. Make sure to decant.
This is delicious - Cam mentioned this was a special production made from European vine clones, and you can taste the difference vs your typical blow-your-face-off Napa Cab. As good a Napa release as I've ever sampled.
I found this wine to be a bit thinner and to have a little more acid than the others I've had so far (Lots 555 and 545).
Opened up nice after a couple hours, Went great with the Lamb Chops we had.
Really thought the tobacco and cigar box notes stood in the nose and on the palate.
Great food wine.
This is a big wine, not a wimp. But it is excellent. It is different from your average cab -- almost an exotic big flavors -- nothing too subtle about it. But it didn't have any raw edges. You have to let it breathe, and you don't serve it with anything dainty.
But it's a really bold tasty wine and something very different for a Napa Cab.
