Wine Details

A brooding black core with hints of magenta reveals the magnitude of Oakville Cabernet…tightly wound on the nose with coffee and blue/black fruits. The nose is very dense and there is a huge core of fruit here just beginning to unwind…give it a good couple of hours in a decanter for near-term drinking. After a few minutes of swirling, hints of cassis and graphite develop…gets better every time you stick your nose in the glass. Big, yet deftly balanced across the palate, with a chorus of blue/black fruit and savory spice meshing with chewy tannins. Very pure with exceptional length…just a baby, granted, but a gorgeous baby at that.

Opened this and let it aired for about two hours. I was surprised it was good. I should not generalized my fear of 2011 wines.

This wine will toe the line between ultra ripe and rich dark fruit bomb with a drying minerality to balance and leave you with a sophisticated Cabernet with an open-now approachability. Not one of the absolute top tier Cam Hughes cabs, but this is an excellent bottle of wine that will impress your wine aficionado friends.

This is one of the best CH wines to come out of the 2011 vintage. The fruit has a typical Oakville profile with great complexity. A good price for a wine of this caliber.

This is a good wine. It has a lot of room to age. Recommend a decant if drinking now.

Great price on this one too.

This Cab compares to labeled Cabs selling for double or more the price

This is a very smooth Cab after brief aeration. To my taste it does not require any more time in the bottle. The tannins are not so strong that aging is needed and might even degrade the complexity of the fruit. There are much more intense and complex Cabs out there. But, for clear concise smooth flavors, this is excellent.

This is a lovely wine. It's still so young though. We decanted it for 3.5 hrs and I definitely don't think it achieved it's full potential. We're going to lay down the other two bottles we purchased....for a year or two.

It is young but it is tasty. I did thoroughly enjoy it. I'm giving it 4.5 stars. I wish there was that option...it's not at 5 star yet but given time, I truly think it will dazzle.

Smooth Cab that goes down easy. Don't think I've had Oakville quality at this price anywhere else, but Cam obviously knows how to work his magic...

Tasted after decanting for three hours. Not sure about the "light body" comments from some others. This is a VERY big Cabernet, but with little tannin. Great now - hard to imagine what more age could do.

Juicy and bold with a light body that makes for a drinkable Cabernet. Berry notes and light tannins. Light notes of oak. This is a Cabernet everybody can enjoy.
