Wine Details
Lot 404 combines power and elegance in a divinely proportioned wine. It features a pure bouquet with beautiful liquid minerality, hints of graphite, and exotic spice punctuating black fruit essence. A package that is just beginning to unwind. In a word, ethereal. Across the palate this wine shows real “sap” (or what the French would call “sucrosite”) and a silky texture that contrasts blackberry essence and a spine of fine-grained and succulent tannins.

Lot 404 2010 Stags Leap Cabernet Sauvignon final blend is elevated with small lots of Atlas Peak Cabernet and Calistoga Petit Verdot, and spent 18 months aging in 100% French oak barrels. I have been sourcing wine from Stags Leap for a few years now and work with quite a few growers and producers in this pedigreed appellation. The wine for Lot 404 was assembled from the same vineyards as Lot 189 (92 points Wine Enthusiast). I am confident that this stunning wine will excite you - she is elegant, sophisticated, and incredibly powerful. The best metaphor is a sailing one - well appointed and glorious.
