Aged in stainless-steel, this Chardonnay is completely un-oaked. Malolactic fermentation gives it a rich feel. It has a lively and beautiful nose of Bosch pears and Golden Delicious apples. The palate reflects the same flavors, with good viscosity and a little lemon-lime acidity. Long, clean finish.
Cam Confidential
I bought this from a winegrower with no contract on his vineyard. He actually had given the grapes from the '03 harvest to a local winery in what's called a "50/50" deal: The grower donates the grapes, the winery makes the wine, and the bulk is sold, with the profits split 50/50. The winegrower sold me his half of the bulk because the winery opted to keep theirs. This is a single-vineyard designate wine made by a high-end winery that sells the same wine out of a San Luis Obispo tasting room under a different label for $17 per bottle. Before it sold out, our price was two bottles for $10!
