Wine Details

Beautiful, lifted nose of mint, cassis, and dusty black fruit with hints of black tea and olive. The palate is seamless, with juicy black fruit core and velvety tannins. Delicious.

Lot 357 is an amalgam of some of the best terroir of Napa Valley, comprised of primarily Oakville and Yountville Cabernet and Merlot with smaller portions sourced from Atlas Peak and Carneros (small amounts of Petit Verdot and Malbec also in the blend). The list of wineries included in this component blend reads like a who’s who of Napa Valley, but alas, I can name only Stagecoach Vineyard as one of the sources. Rockin’ stuff.

Love the luscious body and dark nature of the fruit and sort of spicy finish. We did have some sediment in ours...which I don't mind as much as others. Somewhat unusual for a Meritage, I think.

This wine opens up with lavish dark fruit and some rich pepper spice as well as assertive tannins. After an hour in glass, the wine does seem to flesh out and truly express itself as a fine full bodied meritage blend. I would certainly put this into the class of perfect tri-tip wines, or at least the second bottle that night. Will impress.

This was one of the better Meritages we've tasted from CH. It's no surprise it sold out.

Sure this dense red wine has nice body and finish, but I find the fruit doesn't stand up to the tannins upon tasting. But the alcoholic nose is most off putting for me. I'll try another bottle - there is a lot variation in these wines. A decent value, but imho, there are better.

Not enough going on with this wine for me. The fruit is very muted, and the oak takes center stage (not that I dislike oak, I just want the oak to be more restrained). At this price, still a great value, though. Wonderful dark color; a deep, rich wine that is already throwing sediment. I will not buy this Lot again, but it certainly will have its fans.

Bought this on Cameron's recommendation and was not disappointed.

"Silky" was the first word that came to mind to describe this wine. Even though it's a bit lighter than my usual fare (I tend to prefer VERY full-bodied wines), it's a fun bottle. The black fruit tastes are not overdone (I can't STAND over-fruity wines), and the tannins give the wine a nice finish. I can see why this one's an award winner.

My wife and I loved this wine. Definitely a Cab/Merlot blend, but has an almost "jammy" taste like a good Zin. I'd buy this wine again (especially when Cam gets crazy and gives it away like he did on his black monday sale).

certainly a blend of Cabernet Savignon, Merlot and although it is not on the label, tastes like some Red Zin. Smooth and well balanced, goes great with sliced steak, spinach pie and even rocky road ice cream. Holiday Wine Gift idea!

Wife and I really liked this wine. Had with steak but would make a very nice daily drinker as well as pairing with beef or pork. I will definitely buy a few more.
