This estate is located within Napa Valley's Atlas Peak Appellation, aptly named after Atlas Peak Mountain, which locals in-the-know also call the Blue Mountain. It's the highest point in the region rising 2,663 feet above the valley floor. Located in Napa's eastern hills, the peak juts out of the Vaca Range which separates Napa from the Sacramento valleys. The appellation can be demanding with its high elevation, thin soils, and rocky outcrops. Yet those who see beyond its challenges are rewarded with a mountain-influenced climate with cool, wet winters and warm, dry summers. Atlas Peak is sunny. Yet, night-time temperatures drop, making it a perfect combination for growing grapes with good sugars and acid. And what that means in the end is a bottle of wine that shows off its lush fruit flavors without being flabby.

I found lot 318 at the local grocery store! The buy 6 discount made this the cheapest 2010 Meritage I've ever bought! So I bought out the entire stock! This wine is so good, I am down to 1 bottle now (from 15) Best CH wine I have tried in the Meritage series!!! I will have to keep checking back to see if CH wines will release more of this lot!

This is one I keep coming back for, for as long as the store near me has it. After a little time in the glass, this wine explodes with fruit and oak, even fresh from the bottle it's appealing and jammy. The alcohol doesn't get in the way of this vibrant meritage, giving way to a bountiful bouquet of black and blueberry pie. I have a case saved back for special occasions.

Charles

A wonderfully balanced wine. Great nose. After 45 minutes the wine was really smooth. Glad I was finally able to find this wine.

Matthew

Nice balance. Decanted for just over an hour. Went back and bought 6 bottles for the cellar. Can't wait to see what it tasted like in a year or 2.

A total deal if you're looking for an easy to drink red. I feel like it would go with anything you're trying to pair it with. Not too tannic, but still full of fruit flavor.
