Wine Details

Exotic aromas of spice and black tea with subtle fruit play on the nose. On the palate, a black fruit core is underpinned with soft, playful tannins and good acid. This wine shows a a beautifully delicate structure within bold Napa fruit. Wonderful.

Lot 304 Napa Valley Meritage is an expression of what is best in Bordeaux blending and really showcases the craftmanship of our artisan winemakers. The main component for this blend comes from a winery in Napa specializing in Cab Franc which produces really incredible juice with all the fixin's, pretty French oak, and ripe fruit. The remaining components are each sourced from different high-end producers and could easily stand on their own. While the tannins are well integrated and the wine will grow more succulent with each minute in the glass, this wine will continue to improve for years in the bottle.

Pnp lot 304 ( did not intend to rhyme). Simple yet elegant and refined. Tannin structure is light, so best to drink now to maximize pleasure. A very good wine. For the price, not many can compete. Enjoy.

The CH Meritages continue to impress me. Just a great value for the money. Balanced and fruit driven. Right on the verge of over-ripe (think raisin flavors), but skirts the cliff like a bighorn sheep (very precarious, but never falls).

Upon entry, I taste cassis and violets. The mid-palate is a little soft, but that is my only complaint. A wonderful finish (around 15 seconds) of black pepper and spice round out this blend.

I am convinced that CH offers some of the best values available in California reds (he is not paying me, I promise). If you like the CA style (rich, fruity, plush), the CH Meritages are a sure bet.

Solid wine pairs well with food. Nothing exceptional one way or the other but a solid red.

Bought one case. It was so good I bought two more. Just a great all around red. I can drink it with anything.

This was an Awesome! Meritage. Fruity and smooth, it's a wine I'd be happy to drink every night of the week. Plus only $16 for a wine from Napa? That's a steal!

Good tannins, finishes dry, dark fruit flavors, tiny bit of spiciness. Let this one breathe a little bit.

Fruity and smooth. Juicy!
