Wine Details

Lot 302 2010 Leyda Valley Sauvignon Blanc is very consistent in both style and direction – citrus, melon and fresh cut grass lead to a mouth watering midpalate with juicy acidity and plenty of delicately rendered fruit.

Lot 302 comes from the cool maritime climate of the Leyda Valley of Chile. In 2009, our Winemaker, Sam Spencer and I went down to Chile in search of some good wines. We found great wines. We discovered what is arguably some of our best whites to date. This wine in particular shows incredible complexity with such fun texture and structure. Not only is the soil beautiful, but the wines themselves are plain and simply delicious. As some are not as familiar or appreciative of Chile's wines, if there ever was a wine to change their there while outlook on Chile, it's this one.

I love this wine. I have purchased about 6-8 cases of this vintage and several of its predecessor which I think was a 2008 0r 2009.

Dry, crisp, hint of grapefruit and melon. I will keep buying it.

I'd rather not be writing this poor review of the wine as I have always been satisfied and often impressed with the wines I have bought from Cam over the years. But this sauv blanc from Chile is cloying, very grapefruity and simply difficult to drink. The one from the Russian River is much better.

I've never ordered more than six bottles of any wine from any winery prior to meeting lot 302. We're now ordering case 8 for an upcoming party-even my husband who is not a white wine fan agrees this is delicious, crisp and pairs great with lighter foods.
