Wine Details

Black fruit essence and crème de cassis is interlaced with exotic spice and liquid minerals. Silken texture and fine-grained tannins provide for a breathtaking palate. Deftly and perfectly balanced, this wine showcases the beautiful fruit and alluvial tannins of Oakville and Rutherford. Dazzling stuff, and definitely a cellar candidate.

Lot 300 is sourced primarily from the alluvial fans along the eastside of Napa Valley in the districts of Oakville and Rutherford – these soils I believe make the greatest Napa Valley Cabernets (smaller amounts of the final blend hail from Stags Leap and Atlas Peak). The fruit is picked in small yellow bins before de-stemming into a forty foot long sorting table where every grape is inspected for color and structure. The choice grapes are then placed in brand new, upright oak barrels with their tops removed for fermentation and stirring. The result is perfect extraction and incredible oak integration. Lot 300 is a testament to boutique, hands-on winemaking by some of the most talented people from the best vineyards in Napa Valley. Lot 300 is a step-up in terms of quality from Lot 200, and illustrates how the Cabernet programs at Cameron Hughes Wine continue to strengthen.

I found this on a shelf at a liquor store.
Just had it with friends.
Fantastic and smooth.
They weren't wine fans, but they loved it too.
It's nice to have people who don't know what they are tasting know quality.

Opened the last of my 300's and age has treated it very well. Lots of dark fruit with plum, cassis and chocolate notes with well integrated tannins and a nice long finish

Just open one of my 300's and it is exceptional!! So glad that I have a few more.

We bought and stored this and had 11 bottles left. We had a special Christmas dinner last night and shared this with a large group of friends with no concerns that the wine would be right. It was perfect. I understand that it can age longer, but I can tell you that it is amazing today.

October 18, 2015. Still ageing incredibly well in the bottle. Aired for an hour plus before tasting. Great nose of dense ripened fruit with a deep ruby crimson color. No sign of peaking. This wine should do well for at least another 10 years. It reminded me of a great Saint-Emilion Grand Cru that I had last month in France.

Here it is the end of 2014 and I still have 5 bottles of this superb lot left. Lucky me. This is surly one of your finest releases.
