Lot 293 presents a beautiful and kaleidoscopic nose of citrus fruit and lime leaf with hints of hazelnut. The palate is simultaneously crisp and lush, a feature of the 2009 vintage, with pretty pomelo fruit, apple and citrus and abundant minerality all overlayed with sappy, honey, ripe pear and hazelnut elements.
Our first offering comes from the Chablis region just 150 miles from Paris and one of the cooler growing regions in France with some of the northernmost vineyards sites in the world. Famous for the “Jurassic” calcareous soils, the region is planted almost exclusively to Chardonnay vines that produce a signature crisp and often ageworthy wine. Lot 293 Chablis comes from the highly acclaimed 2009 vintage and is signature Chablis. Produced from 20-year-old-vines, this wine is 100% malolactic complete, 100% stainless steel with one year in the bottle. Will drink great now and over the next 4-5 years.
