Aromas of violets, mushrooms, earth, and wooded spices. Sensual and dark, this Cabernet is brooding with luscious black fruits that slide over your tongue like velvet. Ripe cassis and plums intertwine with bittersweet chocolate, briar, and nutmeg spices. The tannins are incredibly well integrated for having spent 20 months in French oak. Well-rounded, this generous, elegant Cabernet Sauvignon lingers on and on and on. Worthy of decanting for an hour and cellar-worthy for 5 to 7 years.
Cam Confidential
This wine has a 92-point score ("Absolutely delicious Cabernet") from a major publication and a Three-Star (Excellent) review from the SF Chronicle attached to it. I am absolutely thrilled and unbelievably lucky to be able to offer this wine. Like so many wines that come our way, this one has an interesting story as well. The winery was sold some time ago, with the new owners requesting that 600 cases of the '02 Cabernet be held back in shiners (bottles with no labels and generic corks) so they could launch their new brand with the same wine. After many months—and after the winery had moved on to the '03—the deal fell through. Whether the winery offered us the wine due to cash-flow considerations or because they had already moved on in terms of vintage we'll never know. Either way, we have a phenomenal deal to offer you. What once sold for approximately $45 is now yours for $16. Yeehaw!
