Lot 255
2009 Yorkville Highlands Mendocino Pinot Noir
Gold Medal: 2011 California State Fair; Gold Medal: 2011 Critics Challenge International Wine Competition; Notes of black raspberry, acacia, currant and cola.
Lot 255 has a dark, black plum hue and an explosive nose. Layered with notes of black raspberry, acacia, currant and cola, this wine integrates full throttle fruit on a gorgeous backbone of soft acidity. From tip to finish, this wine is beautiful, complex, full of vibrant fruit that delivers a world class velvety finish.
Style: Full, Bold
Remember the rocking little Alexander Valley Cabernet, Lot 152? Same producer. Comparable at well over $35 a bottle, this is a big, rich style Pinot full of earth and fruit backed up with plenty of nice French oak. We only have only 200 cases of this wine so it will be a web exclusive, available only online, and it is sure to go quickly (Gold Medal Winner at both the Critics Challenge and California State Fair wine competitions). This is a Napa Cabernet lovers Pinot so if you like the bigger, richer style of California Pinot Noir, this wine is for you. There is good aging capability on this wine as well and I would love to see this in a few years.
