Wine Details
Golden center with a matching rim. Apple Tart, toasted almond, and caramel occupy the nose. Rich tropical fruit and contrasting acidity are supported by a base of creamy oak. The density is dessert-like but balanced from tip to tail. In each of these Santa Barbara Chardonnays, we fondly recall chasing the good humor truck at breakneck pace, screaming for sherbet, push-ups, and dreamsicles. With pitch-perfect balance and structure, this wine is great for the bold Chardonnay lover.

This wine was made for us by a stunning custom crush facility that normally produces wine for 30 high-end wine producers. We got our hands on some great reserve-tier juice last fall from which we made three amazing Chardonnays. This wine is the boldest of the three. We used two different types of French oak for great depth of character with 40% malolactic fermentation. If you remember the reserve wines of Meridian produced in the early- to mid-'90s, you'll find this wine familiar. It's the type of wine that Santa Barbara was known for. Lot 159 is a fantastic deal on Chardonnay, and if you are looking to explore this varietal, you have found a great wine in taste and price to try out and enjoy.
