Wine Details
Young and tight right now, this wine needs another 6 to 8 months to flesh out in the bottle. Well structured from start to finish, with juicy acidity and a long (subdued, at this time) finish, featuring ultra-fine tannins. It will drink well young but definitely will hold and improve over the next 5 to 10 years. I remember the original tank blend as big, ripe, lavishly fruity, and fleshy but can't find my original descriptor notes.

Dry Creek Cabs tend to be lush and ripe, with moderate acidity. We took that component and blended it with some fantastic Napa Merlot, fleshing out the wine and giving it much more structure and complexity. Both wines are blending components from $30+ programs. I had lunch with a wine writer who tasted through Lots 7 to 13 and declared this the best wine we have produced so far, despite its inherent tightness. This is one for the cellar.
