Dear Friends,

Starting with our first centenary Lot offering (Lot 100) we have sought to put something truly special in the bottle. Lot 400 is no different; in fact, it is our best to date (I understand you may want to roll your eyes here, but what’s true is true). Lot 400 does, however, represent a significant upgrade as we move away from our sourcing partner for Lots 200 and 300 (which still needs another four or five months in bottle by the way) and move on to another opportunity. And a tremendous opportunity it is.

Lot 400 2010 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon combines wines we purchased from a super high-end producer with legendary vineyard sources in Oakville and Rutherford and our own grapes-to-bottle programs in Stagecoach Vineyard on Atlas Peak and in the Palisades Vineyard in Calistoga. The result is a stunning wine that combines fruit from some of the best vineyards in Napa Valley to create an uber-cuvee that, for me, is the archetype of great Napa Valley Cabernet  in its exotic form.

Gorgeous aromas of kirsch liqueur, crushed blue/black berries and graphite are framed with sweet toasty oak. On the palate dense texture and perfectly rich fruit (Rutherford and Oakville) contrasts nicely with the fresh impact of mountain minerality (Atlas Peak).  Crushed plum, violets and white flowers vie for attention all supported by ripe, mouth-coating tannins. Superb length and penetrating fruit are focused and intense with tremendous persistence and balance. The resulting synergy is a stellar composition of Napa Valley Terroir. This is our most complete centenary effort to date. Compare at $100-$125/bottle.

Bottled towards the end of September, Lot 400 is coming around nicely right now, and while certainly a candidate for your cellar, it will be a worthy accompaniment to your Thanksgiving table and other holiday events. Now here is the bad news, we have less of Lot 400 than we did of Lot 200 or Lot 300. Those both sold out quickly, so order now, it is sure to sell out as all our centenary Lots do.  To buy Lot 400, click here.
Lot 400 is a spectacular Cabernet with tremendous provenance and I can pretty much guarantee it is going to rock your world as it has mine. The cost is $28/bottle for a wine whose comparible value is minimum $100+.

If you have any questions about Lot 400, do not hesitate to call or email. I look forward to hearing from you.

Cheers,

Cameron
