Dear Friends,

Today’s first release, Lot 223 2009 High Valley Lake County Cabernet Sauvignon ($12) is made from the same vineyards, winery, and fantastic consulting winemaker as Lot 224 2009 Syrah. Sourced from almost 30 year old vines planted in volcanic soils at 2000 feet altitudes in the High Valley appellation of Lake County, Lot 223 is a similarly fantastic value. Made in small batch fermenters and aged in 25% new French oak, the resulting wine is darkly colored and beautifully aromatic with cassis, graphite and violet-tinged blackberry aromas leaping from the glass. Amply structured, dense, and perfectly balanced, Lot 223 is a wine that punches way above its weight. Decant for an hour in the near term and cellar another 5-8 years. GREAT VALUE! (the winery sells their Cabernet from the same vineyards for upwards of $40/bottle).

Lot 283 2009 Napa Valley Cabernet ($18) is a rockin’ bottle of wine too. Sourced from ultra-premium St Helena and Oakville vineyards, Lot 283 features a voluminous nose of black and blue fruit, cherry liqueur and cappuccino oak notes. The palate is expansive yet elegant featuring the signature vibrant fruit of the 2009 vintage, hints of black licorice, espresso and a solid core of tannins that stretch the wine out tremendously. Another wine in need of decanting, so give it an hour or cellar it over the next decade, no problem. ANOTHER TREMENDOUS VALUE! (compare at $50-70 for wines form these same vineyards).

As always, please call or email us with any questions you may have about these or any other wines. We welcome your feedback and always look forward to hearing from you. Also, don't forget that all orders of 12 bottles and more (in increments of 6 e.g. 12, 18, 24, etc) ship for free until the end of 2012!

Cheers!
