Dear Friends,

Remember Lot 189 2008 Stags Leap Cabernet? What if I told you I effectively had the same wine but in the 2007 vintage for less money? Well, I do. Lot 287 2007 (Stags Leap) Cabernet is actually appellated Napa Valley as the blend is 77% Stags Leap District, 13% Oakville, and 10% Rutherford simply because we thought the final blend was superior to an 85% Stags Leap blend (which is where it would need to be to qualify for the appellation).

This wine is every bit as good as Lot 189 and comes from the same producer! If you like the richer profile Napa Cabs you’ll probably enjoy this one even more. Our winery partner really hesitated to part with this wine which is why we are just now bringing it to market for you. At $20 this wine is an absolute steal and certainly gives Lot 229 a run for its money as Value Wine of the Year.

Short tasting notes: Aromatically very similar to Lot 189 with blackberries, violets, and scorched earth on the nose but the overall profile of the wine is richer and riper. Cassis and blackberries are lively across the palate backed by espresso bean and the Stags Leap signature ultra-fine tannin structure. There is a real chewiness to this wine and a long finish as well. Simply fantastic juice!

We have about 3,000 cases of this wine and 1,000 cases have been allocated for our Webstore so you’ll want to move quickly to secure this wine.

As always feel free to call our awesome customer service team at +800.805.1971 or email us. We hope to hear from you.

Cheers!
