CHW Confidential
Bob Cabral has been involved in growing grapes and winemaking with his family since he was a boy. A fourth generation farmer and grape grower, Bob is best known for serving as Williams Selyem's winemaker for 17 harvests. Wine Enthusiast named him Winemaker of the Year in 2011. His Williams Selyem Estate Pinot Noir was the first ever 100-pt scoring California Pinot Noir by a major publication, and he has crafted over a hundred wines that scored in the 95-100 point range over his career.
A fan of Game of Thrones, Bob was challenged to craft wines to match the strength of the characters and the terrain of their kingdoms. These wines are excellent examples of California winemaking - enjoyable now, yet also rewarding careful cellaring. Bob intended them to complement the sensory experience of the HBO® series.
