Bob Cabral has been involved in growing grapes and winemaking with his family since he was a boy. A fourth generation farmer and grape grower, Bob is best known for serving as Williams Selyem's winemaker for 17 harvests. Wine Enthusiast named him Winemaker of the Year in 2011. His Williams Selyem Estate Pinot Noir was the first ever 100-pt scoring California Pinot Noir by a major publication, and he has crafted over a hundred wines that scored in the 95-100 point range over his career.
A fan of Game of Thrones, Bob was challenged to craft wines to match the strength of the characters and the terrain of their kingdoms. These wines are excellent examples of California winemaking - enjoyable now, yet also rewarding careful cellaring. Bob intended them to complement the sensory experience of the HBO® series.
I bought this wine for my husband, a huge GoT (HBO) fan. I was expecting an okay wine at best. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the wine and would definitely order again.
I thought this was going to be a gimmicky wine designed for quick sale. I was pleasantly surprised to find it had a lovely taste. One of my favorites from CH
First off it comes in a very bottle, if you're thinking of giving any bottles as gifts to someone. As far as the taste is concerned, you definitely get a very nice creamy and peachy flavor. you get a slight hint of the Riesling on the finish.Worth a purchase.
Being a great follower of Game of Thrones....this was a no brainier to order as soon as it came out! I had ordered 6 chards and 6 of the red wine. I was really taken back after having a glass of this chard the other night! I was expecting a very acidic, lemony based Chardonnay. What a surprise! It is very creamy, fruit forward as described and overall a great balance. I did not taste the meyer lemon at all. Definitely considering a reorder.
