Wine Details

Black cherry, sweet florals, and peppery leather are set against a backdrop of cranberry, blood orange, iron and red rock. Seamless across the palate, and pulsating with mouthwatering yet rich minerality that spreads its wings over a few hours to reveal suave, sexy red fruits and peppery spice – classic iron fist, velvet glove.

Cam Confidential

The 2014 Sarrazin Pinot Noir from the Maranges region at the southern tip of the Côte de Beaune is another fantastic Burgundian bargain, the perfect balancing point between the ethereal elegance of the Pernand-Vergelesses and the meaty, iron-like richness of the Gevrey Chambertin. Aged in 50% new oak yet tremendously pure, this wine will have a broad appeal.

My first love of wine is French Burgundy, especially the Cote de Beaune. I know that this wine comes from the farthest reaches of the Cote de Beaune but it does justice to the best first growth Volnay wines. It is a gorgeous example of the pinot grape almost feminine in its character.
An outstanding bargain at even 2+ its asked for price. I was lucky enough to purchase one case and anticipate enjoying it over the next few years.

Opened this last night and was not immediatley impressed because it tasted a bit tight and not expressive. However, the wine opened up amazingly well after a couple hours and has turned into one the best Burgundies I've had in a very long time. Remember to decant!

I don't know much about Burgundy but I love Pinot. I am Cam believer so ordered this wine expecting a good experience. Lush but restrained; light as a feather. I bought 2 cases of this wine. Simply the best Pinot I have had at this price.
