Caravaglio Malvasia Bianco Secco 2016
The Caravaglio family has been cultivating wine grapes here for over 500 years – winemaker Antonino Caravaglio’s ancestors were among the first to partner with Venetian traders that planted the original Malvasia and Corinto Nero vines in the 1500s. Few winegrowing regions in the world can claim such an unbroken chain of organic cultivation, and the Caravaglio family continues ancient traditions and practices in the caring for these pristine vines. With each sunrise over the bright blue of the Mediterranean, you can find Antonino, his wife Elisa, and their daughter Alda tending their organic vineyards by hand. Native to Sicily, Caravaglio’s Malvasia is grown on volcanic soils in the Malfa district of the island of Salina.
