Deeply extracted with long, plentiful legs, the nose opens with all the red-to-black fruit you'd expect, wrapped in a warm blanket of leather, peppers, cocoa, dusty clay pot, and earthen soils. The palate is shaking off its youthful, nervy qualities beautifully and settling into the early stages of bottle maturity: balanced acidity weaving through cassis, black cherries, and plum paste, revealing expertly integrated tannins alongside new leather and hints of fresh tobacco and spice. The finish is long, vanilla-flecked, and dry, making for uplifted raspberries and dark chocolate that seem to linger forever.

The 2021 Club Selection is an outstanding small-lot Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from a high-end Oakville program, and, like years past, was the most expensive wine we acquired in 2021. As with previous years’ Club Selection sourcing, mum’s the word, but you can rest assured knowing all the crucial pieces were accounted for: world-class vineyard management, top-tier winemaker, and a no-expense-spared oak program.
