Taste: This Cabernet Franc presents a pretty, oaky vanilla nose with underlying fruit and elegant rose petals. There is not a hint of green in this wine as is often found in Cabernet Franc. The fruit is all black and blue, with cassis and blackberry. The tannins are firm but soft, creating a wine that is approachable now but will best express itself when paired with food. Try pairing with roast beef, steak, hamburgers, or ribs.
Cameron Confidential: This wine was the red-headed stepchild of a larger deal with a huge, multi-national wine company. Clearly they had no idea what to do with 30 barrels of top-quality Cabernet Franc—way past the market in terms of vintage and unsellable from a marketing perspective. How many Lake County Cabernet Francs do you see flying off the shelf? Yep—none.
That's where CHWine comes in—savior to outcasts, lover of red-headed stepchildren, and king of the killer deal. We drove an embarrassingly hard bargain, enabling us to sell this beauty for $10. If you like big, rich, oaky reds and killer QPR, look no further.
