Taste: Immediately accessible, classic Napa Cab, ebullient with cassis and pretty French oak on the nose. This is a meticulously hand-crafted medium/full-bodied wine (13.9%), featuring gobs of blackberry, raspberry, and cassis fruit underpinned with toasty oak and subtle cocoa notes. All are leading to a long, elegant finish with great balance and firm—but not bitter—tannins. This is archetypal Napa Cabernet: lush, smooth, inviting, and an exceptional value at $12 a bottle.
Cameron Confidential: Remember Lot 47 Diamond Mountain Cabernet? This is its little brother wine sourced from the same producer—a guy getting out of the wine business and closing out his inventories (though this wine did not come up for sale immediately; that's why it's being released so much later than Lot 47). The grapes are sourced from two vineyards, one on Diamond Mountain, the other in Chiles Valley. Past vintages of this wine have consistently scored 89 – 91 points from the Spectator, Enthusiast, and Tastings.com, and retail prices have been between $25 to $35 a bottle. So ... why the hell are we selling this for $12? I know this sounds like a cliché, but let's just say we got a great deal on the wine and we are passing the savings along to you. It's what we do, folks.
