Taste: Wow! This wine leaps from the glass with rich, tropical fruit notes of peaches, mango, pineapple, vanilla oak, and hints of butterscotch. This wine truly dances and offers a fantastically complex and gorgeously rich palette of ripe fruits and beautiful acidity that carries the wine through to a long, lingering, crisp, butterscotchy finish. Opens up with air.
Cameron Confidential: Think Rombauer in terms of style. This wine comes from one of the premier Chardonnay-growing regions in the world, the Russian River Valley. The high acidity of the grapes grown here enables winemakers to use classic barrel fermentation to produce complex, creamy wines (much like Carneros). The grapes in this wine come from a mature vineyard just north of River Road and typically go into bottles $25 and up. Barrel fermentation is a costly and labor-intensive process, so the wine costs a couple bucks more than our other Chardonnays, but it is well worth it. There is not a lot of it, so move quickly—you won't be disappointed. This is first-class juice from the bountiful and beautiful 2005 harvest.
