Taste: This deep purple/black wine requires a good hour in the decanter before opening up. It has a gorgeous blue fruit nose with hints of cedar, chocolate and mint. Excellent structure and power in the mid-palate, showing coffee and jammy fruit. Long finish of blueberries, cedar, chocolate and silky tannins. It will age gracefully for 15+ years.
Cameron Confidential: Wow! This is an unbelievable wine for the price. It came from a Lake County producer in need of a quick cash flow injection. It?s their entire 2001 reserve, single-vineyard designate Petite Sirah. We were just in the right place at the right time on this one.
