Taste: Deep red purple color; almost black. Bright cherry nose with hints of raspberries and vanilla oak. Medium complexity will continue to unfold as this wine gets more bottle bouquet with time. Rich, deep and full-bodied on the palate with a solid core of cherry and raspberry fruit. The cabernet brings the fruit and structure, the merlot, the mid-palate depth and jamminess, the cab franc brings the color and the high-toned raspberry fruit. The wine is seamless, silky and round with well integrated tannins that finish long and clean. Drinkable near-term as well but will need some decanter time, maybe an hour or so. This wine definitely has long term ageing potential and if you want to lay them down I think they will continue to improve another 5-7 years.

Cameron Confidential: This blend of four different wines comes mainly from wineries with one grower wine represented. All of these components come from Lake County vineyards with wineries located in Sonoma, Napa, and Lake County. Those of you who have been with us long enough will remember our first Lake County wine, Lot 3 Petite Sirah, and start drooling. I love Lake County wines and I am happy to bring another one to the table. The primary components of this wine were grown on high-elevation plateaus all spent about 12 months in oak, mostly neutral barrels.
