Taste: Dark red with a violet hue. Aromas of cherries and chocolate occupy the nose. This medium- to full-bodied wine presents ripe cherries on the palate with a velvety mouthfeel. Hints of mint on the mid-palate are underpinned by dark chocolate and oak. Supple and polished throughout, this wine finishes smooth as silk with ultra-fine tannins.
Cameron Confidential: In the summer of 2008, we were invited to visit one of the facilities in a recently formed marketing group for several wineries in the Napa/Sonoma area. There we were shown about 10 wines—suffice it to say we bought everything they put in front of us, ranging from Carneros Pinot Noir and Chardonnay all the way to Atlas Peak Cabernet and this Alexander Valley Meritage. EVERYTHING we bought was finished bottling-blend, simply excess wines above and beyond where they saw their sales projections, and ALL were ready to go right into the bottle. And go into the bottle they did.
