Taste: Stylistically, this is a remarkably open and accessible Spring Mountain Cabernet, showing incredible fruit, colossal structure, gorgeous oak (80% new and 20% one-year old barrels for 20 months,) and a remarkably supple mouthfeel for this district. Deep purple, red color and gorgeous nose reveal red stone fruits on the palate, with plenty of tannin. Drink this wine over the next 15 to 20 years and certainly decant in the near term. The last two vintages (2003 and 2004) of these wines both received 92-point scores from the Spectator and Enthusiast.
Cameron Confidential: Lot 121 Spring Mountain Cabernet is one of our best yet and most certainly our finest wine from that appellation. If you liked Lot 120 Atlas Peak, this is from the same winery and built from their $85-per-bottle program. We made fewer than 500 cases (presenting the winery's entire production for 2006—they are still selling 2004) and will only feature it on the website for a few weeks before shipping the rest to our distribution partners.
